Cactus Awards for 2006

Once again, the Cactus Awards will be finalised in January, in conjunction with our Top 100 countdown on ChartCountry radio. Announce the date at a later stage.

This year, with only a coupl eof months to go, things are pretty close in a number of catergories. Single of the year has still not been decided, and the male, female and Australian artists awards are very much up for grabs.

The email voting award i the closest it's ever been, with around 10 artists in the running at this stage.

We'll also be including a couple of new categries, being
Radio single of the Year (based on your radio votes over the year)
New CC Artist of the Year

more on the awards as we get closer to the end of the year

This years winners for the ChartCountry Cactus Awards have been finalised. Thanks to our 12 member Cactus Panel for casting the final votes of 2006.

Gary Allan has taken the coveted Single of the Year title, with "Life Ain't Always Beautiful", also picking up the Radio Single of the Year.

I checked out the winners and was surprised but pleased (very pleased) to see that Sugarland won two. They don't stand a chance aainst B&D for the CMA's IMO, and I found it funny that they beat them out for that award here. Way to go Jennifer and Kris!
