New Country on CC Radio
Permalink

This past week, we've started airing a few new ones, including

Rockie Lynne - Do We Still (great follow up to Lipstick)
Gary Nichols - Unbroken Ground
Lee Kernaghan - The New Bush (great to hear new music from Lee, great single)
Troy Cassar Daley - Getaway Car (one hot song, with backing vocals from Kasey Chambers)
Billy Currington - Why Why Why
Natalie Howard - Is it Just Me (look out for this Aussie in the US, she's touring, and hot!)

Still can't get enough of Carrie Underwood's Jesus, Take the Wheel. Sure, it's been around a while now, but the single, and clip, are so emotive!

Gary Allan's Life Ain't Always Beautiful is also another turn it up song for me at present. Well done to the man! Not sure about the video clip though, guess it will grow on me.

Also great to have those dancin' chickens from Texas back on the radio. The Dixie Chicks have certainly had some bad press over the years, a lot of it self proclaimed, but their latest single is one heck of a song, and definately 100% Chicks.

Mike, have you heard Joe Nichols new single and seen the video for "Size Matters"?  What a great song and video.  He has been stated by a number of people in Nashville that Joe Nichols is the one to replace George Strait, Alan Jackson, etc.  He is very traditional country and stated that he is not going to change from tradition for anyone.  With new comers like Joe Nichols, Josh Turner, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Gretchen Wilson, etc., Pure Country Music will live on.  Mike, on another note, fellow Austrialian Sherri Austin I don't think is getting the recognization that she deserves in the US and Canada.  She is an excellent Country music singer and a very beautiful lady as well.

Sincerely,

Patrick

thanks Pat, yes, i've definately heard the single, but have'nt caught the video yet. If it's anything like his tequila video, it would be worth seeing.
Totally agree with you on the traditional soud, he sure does have it, in fact, when i first heard him quite a few years ago, I actually thought it was George Strait.

As for Sherrie Austin, we are on the same page again. Very under rated. Her "Solitary Tear" would be one of my all time favourite country songs. She has never done well on the CC40, which is a shame, as her country is once again, away from the pop sound

Hey...don't feel bad.  There are still Junkies that can't quite figure out the video and it's meaning...I'm one of them!  lol
