Miranda Lambert has taken her maiden ChartCountry number one, as "Kerosene" continues a ten week run in the chart.
Miranda's previous chart high was her last single, "Bring Me Down" which peaked at three, whilst "me and Charlie Talking" made it as high as twenty one. All single are from Miranda's debut album, "Kerosene".
AT LEAST HE WAS AT THE TOP. ALOT OF OTHER COUNTRY ARTIST CAN'T SAY THAT THEY HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE. BESIDES, I BELIEVE HE WILL BE BACK UP THERE AGAIN SOON. AND HE HAS A NEW CD COMING OUT IN THE SUMMER OR FALL.
HE'S DONE IT BEFORE, HE WILL DO IT AGAIN. HIS RECORD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF.
BROOKS AND DUNN, MONTGOMERY/GENTRY, REBA, MARTINA MCBRIDE, DIERKS BENTLEY. ALSO THE OLDER ARTIST LIKE JOHNNY CASH, DOLLY PARTON, CONWAY TWITTY, TAMMY WYNETTE, ETC.
I JUST FEEL THAT BLAKE SHELTON IS DIFFERENT, IN A GOOD WAY. I THINK HE REPRESENTS OLD AS WELL AS NEW COUNTRY. I DIDN'T HAVE TO GET USED TO HIS MUSIC, I JUST LIKED IT RIGHT OFF THE BAT. AND THAT TOLD ME RIGHT THEN AND THERE THAT HE HAD TALENT, AND WAS GOING TO GO FAR.
well, there are definately a lot of artists out there that don't get the recognition they deserve, for sure, Blake could get a lot more than he does, but so too could artists like Phil Vassar, Chris Cagle, Craig Morgan etc etc, not to mention the fact that female artists are still fighting to compete with their male counterparts. At the end of the day, each to their respective own.....if you like it, buy it, support it, and help the artist out by letting everyone know how great their sounds are.
For me, I would'nt say I have an overall favourite artist. I listen to so much country, all day, every day, that it's hard to say, yep, thats my favourite. Having said that though, I do find a lot in Trace Adkins' music (the ballads at least), but then again I could say the same abot countless others.
For me, it's more so about the song, and how the message is portrayed. George Canyon tells a great story in his songs, like "My Name", or Paul Brandt's "Home" is another great one too.
I also would'nt say that there is an artist that I would'nt listen to either. I find that even if I hear a song that i hate at first, after a few rotations, it's got my foot tapping along with it too.
thanks for your comments though zud, and good to have you on board with us
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WELCOMING ME. I APPRECIATE IT. SORRY IF I CAME OFF SOUNDING AROGANT. DIDN'T MEAN TO. I DO LIKE OTHER ARTIST ALSO. I LOVE GRAIG MORGAN'S REDNECK YACHT CLUB. IT'S A GREAT SONG. AND CHRIS CAGLES- MISS ME BABY.
I'M NOT FAMILIER WITH THE OTHER ARTIST. I JUST RECENTLY GOT BACK INTO COUNTRY. AND ONLY LIKE WHAT I SEE ON GACTV. I HAVEN'T BEEN EXPOSED YET TO THE OTHER ARTIST. AND I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT I LOVE TRACE ATKINS, ESPECIALLY - ARLINGTON. HOWEVER, I DO NOT LIKE - HONKYTONKBADONKADONK. HOPE I SPEELED IT RIGHT. IT'S JUST NOT COUNTRY FOR ME.
ANYWAY, I ENJOYED YOUR REPLY. AND YOU ARE RIGHT, I SHOULD BE MORE OPEN MINDED WHERE THE OTHER ARTIST ARE CONCERNED. BUT I STILL LIKE BLAKE SHELTON, AND HOPE HE DOES BETTER IN THE CHARTS, AND HOPE THAT WHEN HIS NEW CD COMES OUT, IT WILL BE A GREAT SUCCESS
AS FOR MIRANDA LAMBERT.... I'M SURE HER OTHER SONGS ARE GOOD. I JUST DON'T CARE FOR KEROSENE. I WISH SHE WOULD MAKE A VIDEO OF HER DOING A LOVE SONG. IN KEROSENE, SHE ACTS TO TOUGH, AND LIKE SHE HAS A BAD ATTITUDE. SHE'S TOO PRETTY FOR THAT. I KNOW SHE CAN DO BETTER.
I also do not care for her song Kerosene. Just don't think some of her songs are worth playing on a Country station and I usually will change stations when it comes on. I have also seen her perform live and her stage appeal is more like todays Rock the Country. I did not care for it all. I had seen Erick Jo the week before and her stage presents was far superior.
You are right, there are so many more really good singers that don't get the recognition that they deserve. Like two of my favorites Jeff Bates and Buddy Jewell. I think the record companies put to much important's on a new comers age weather than how good they are. And lets face it they can make or break you if they want to.
