Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. announced today that, just days after becoming the top selling music item in company history, Garth Brooks: The Limited Series boxed set has reached Platinum status, passing the one million benchmark for complete boxed sets sold (6 million discs). The boxed set, which includes a disc of 11 previously recorded unreleased Garth recordings, was launched in Wal-Mart stores and SAM'S CLUB locations on Nov. 23, after preorders of the set attained record-breaking results at Walmart.com (http://www.walmart.com ) by becoming the fastest selling media title on the site. It achieved Wal-Mart's highest volume of sales ever for the first day of a musical release and continues to be a "must have" item for music fans around the country and Canada.
