As Urban’s new concert DVD, Livin’ Right Now, hits the stores Tuesday, Sept. 27, Golden Road hits three million in sales

September 26, 2005 (NASHVILLE, TN) - On the eve of the much-anticipated release of Keith Urban’s new live concert DVD Livin’ Right Now, another Urban release grabs the sales spotlight. Urban’s second album, Golden Road, is now triple Platinum, marking sales of over three million albums, according to the RIAA.

“The success of Golden Road is nothing short of phenomenal,” said Bill Kennedy, VP Sales of Capitol Records Nashville. “Three years released, three million sales and still going strong every week - that’s unheard of in today's music marketplace. New audiences continue to discover this amazing record,” he added.

The news of Golden Road’s new triple Platinum certification caps off a busy month for the artist. Urban’s new concert DVD, Livin’ Right Now, arrives in stores on Tuesday, September 27; shot last year in Los Angeles during Urban’s two-night stint at the Wiltern Theater, the two-hour DVD, filmed in high definition and available in 5.1 surround sound, features a wide selection of Urban’s music, including all six of his #1 singles. In addition to the 18 songs on Livin’ Right Now, the DVD also features behind the scenes footage including Urban at sound check and personal perspectives from Urban about his music.

This month also marked the re-launch of Urban’s “Alive In 05’” tour, newly re-vamped for the fall. The 39-date tour, sponsored by SBC Communications, runs through mid-December with stops across the country including Denver, Cleveland, Detroit, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix and St. Paul, among others. The “Alive In ’05” Fall Tour includes new production, lighting design, the use of projection screens and an all new set list. Another addition to the tour is a new unique backstage experience for select fan club and contest winners, where invited guests can experience what its like to be backstage at a Keith Urban concert. Ticket information, tour schedule and the latest tour news is available at www.keithurban.net.

September also brought fresh CMA nominations for Urban; last year’s Male Vocalist of the Year was also nominated for that honor this year, as well as Video of the Year (“Days Go By”), Album of the Year (Be Here) and the highly-coveted Entertainer of the Year award. Urban will perform on the nationally televised award show, which airs live Tuesday, Nov. 15 from New York City's famed Madison Square Garden.
