The state attorney general wants the country singer who made the song "Redneck Woman" a hit to s top "glamorizing" the use of smokeless tobacco at her concerts. State officials said Gretchen Wilson can be seen on concert jumbo screens pulling a can of Skoal from her pocket while performing her new song, "Skoal Ring." That may violate the 1998 settlement between states and tobacco companies forbidding tobacco ads targeting young people, Attorney General Paul Summers said. "Many young people attend your concerts and purchase your music and T-shirts," Summers wrote in a letter he sent to Wilson Thursday. "Because your actions strongly influence the youth in your audience ... I ask you to take steps to warn young people of negative health effects of smokeless tobacco use."
Ok, I can see their point on this, but i dont agree with it. IMO ~ kids are gonna do what kids do. It is up to the parents to make sure they teach their kids right from wrong. I dont think that Gretchen pulling skoal out of her pocket during a concert is going to make some kid decide to chew. There are people all over the country that use skoal product that have kids that look up to them as role models, I dont hear Skoal asking parents not to use it front of their kids.

I agree with tuck on this one...I personally think chewing is disgusting, gross and for a woman extremely tacky...but I'm the parent of my kids. I'm the one that should be teaching them what I feel is right from wrong, good from bad. That's my responsibility to teach them and to provide censorship if I feel it is needed.
I agree with you on all your point's. especially about a woman chewing. It's bad enough for a man to do it but a woman chewing....that is just beyond gross. Beside's, I don't care for her music anyway!
