CALGARY — Host Paul Brandt will perform at the CCMA awards next month, and Ian Tyson and Corb Lund will also take the stage in a special tribute to Alberta’s centennial year.

The Canadian Country Music Association released its initial list of performers Monday for the awards, which will be held Sept. 12 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary.

Brandt is nominated for six awards.

Others who are slated to perform include the Road Hammers, and other multiple nominees: George Canyon, Terri Clark, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and the Manitoba band Doc Walker.

International country star Dierks Bentley, who is currently touring, will also present and perform on the show.

The awards will be broadcast on CBC, and will also be seen in the U.S. and for the first time on the Country Music Channel in Australia.

looks like it was George Canyon's year! My Name is such a great single, written from a perspective that a lot of people can really relate to as well.

Great to see Paul Brandt pick up album of the year, there's so many great tracks on that cd. Will have to check out the Convoy clip now too

The Corb Lund band! I saw them here only a couple of months ago touring with Adam Harvey, loved those guys in concert

A bit surprised though that Amanda Wilkinson got the new artist award though

Thanks for the update Gaetane, maybe next year, I can get to the awards in person

Thanks for posting this Gaetane, I've been wondering about them.

I didn't know Paul Brandt had a video for Convoy!!  That's got to be awesome!!  I love that song-have since I was a kid and CWMcCall recorded it.  (I think it was CW.)
