Kenny Chesney is ranked at No. 3 on Pollstar's mid-year list of top-grossing tours, but he's No. 1 in total tickets sold. According to information released by the music industry magazine, Chesney's 2005 Somewhere in the Sun Tour has generated gross revenues of $35 million from sales of roughly 610,000 tickets. The top touring act, U2, generated $48.4 million from sales of approximately 500,000 tickets. In second place, Celine Dion -- who has performed exclusively at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas -- has grossed $43.9 million after selling almost 322,000 tickets. The disparity between Chesney's ticket sales and gross revenues is directly related to his average ticket -- $57.39 -- as compared to the average of $96.94 for U2 and $136.70 for Dion. Other acts near the top of the list include the Eagles (No. 5), Jimmy Buffett (No. 10), Larry the Cable Guy (landing at No. 11 with a staggering $15.4 million in ticket sales) and George Strait (No. 12).
