A few great performances at this years CMA's, and a few very ordinary ones too......just my opinion, but here goes
Vince Gill's performance was yet another reason why (get the pun?) this guy is one of country's top acts. I don't think i've ever seen Vince perform a poor live song.
Martina McBride. WOW! This woman has more god given talent in her left elbow that most have in their whole body. Talk about sing! Definately my pick as performance of the night.
Rascal Flatts. Flat? Ordinary? Really disappointing performace guys. It's a great single, the the radio version is top notch, but live? Nope. Did'nt do it for me at all.
Miranda Lambert. Was really looking forward to seeing the little blonde strut her stuff, and have to say i was very disapointed in what she did.
Josh Turner. How good is this guy. Great to see he is just as good live.
Brad Paisley. You betchya, this guy is one great performer. To top it off, winning album of the year was fantastic to see for a guy who does'nt get nearly the credit he deserves.

Mike, you are right on the mark with your comments with all the artists mentioned above, especially Vince, Martina, Brad and Josh. I attended 2 George Tracy Miranda concerts this past summer 2006 and Miranda is awful singing live on the stage. I also her songs are rock and not country rock either. I don't think she is country, myself. You are definitely on the mark with Rascal Flatts. Those guys should be in the pop music field and not country at all. They are also the worst performing live on stage as well. Would never go see one of their shows even if they were the last group playing.
I don't mind Miranda's music, can see where your coming from though Pat. be interesting to see in a few years time whether she does turn out to be the next big thing, as a lot of people tend to think.
have you heard Miranda's duet with Buddy Jewell, Today I Started Loving You Again, has more of a contemporary sound to it, be interested to know what you think Pat
